[LargeFormat] Tessar, Nettar, Novar...

The Tessar is 4 element and the Novar is 3 element, but I didn't know Nettar
was a lens as well as a camera. Pronto shutters typically were 1/25 to
1/200, Prontor 1 to 1/300. Compur Rapid or Synchro Compur went up to 1/500
claimed but unrealistic. It's possible to have such shutters cleaned if the
lens is good but it costs. The Tessar was good, (much like Xenar) Novar
good at say f8. If the shutter release is stiff beware shake. What's the
viewfinder like? Maybe you could get a shoe- fitting 35mm camera (Russian)
viewfinder for a 50mm standard lens which approximates to 105mm on 6x9.
Oddly enough I have a 6x9 Ikonta with unusable uncoupled r/f being sold on
commision by a shop as I did not use it, also a 16 on 120 Ensign with
folding Albada finder and f3.5 Ross Xpres which was a bit stiff to use and
not all that much smaller than the Ikonta. I was tempted to get it serviced
but what the hell I'm ankle deep..... and Nikon is good for everyday or a
Linhof for something demanding. Did you try 11x14 or am I thinking of
another contributor? Philip
