Les,

You're probably on to a loser trying to reclaim the photos. Maybe others 
have a magical solution - only thing I have tried in the past following a 
similar incident was to leave the (B&W) prints in a water bath for several 
hours and try to tease them apart gently using a spoon handle or peeling by 
grabbing the prints and pulling apart whilst in the water.

Some of the damage was not too apparent but in most cases the damage was 
evident.

Guess that the nature of the drink spilled also has some bearing on the 
potential success - in my case it was tea containing sugar and the water 
bath method was used before the photos had dried out completely.
