For me it's mostly the following:
1. An almost total involvement in the process to the
exclusion of all distractions. LF is a comtemplative
experience.

2. You have the opportunity to process each negative
independently. You can make several duplicate
exposures, develop them one at a time, and make
appropriate adjustments.

3. The degree of magnification is much less than from
smaller negatives so the end product, the print, has
the potential to be of higher quality.
