Connie,
At 5, I helped my Papa treat black leg—the dark purple soaked cotton
stuffed to fill the wound. My Papa was so gentle with his cows that we
needed no dogs, or horses, except at round-up (branding).(I own his
branding iron now) I've had many a cow-designed hairdo. It was hard for
me when I realized that I could never ranch—they were my friends, not a
living—I know I'm a pansy, but that's ok. When I was 3, I'd crawl under
the fence and Aunt Camye would find me sittin in the dirt in the midst
of all those hooves. Corny, but true. I was born in Austin. Grew up
with grandparent tenant farmers in Thorndale—hoed garden, picked
cotton—became city girl teenager. Got out of Austin '88 as fast as I
could go. I was reared to be a Texan and I don't see many now—about
time to leave US.
Where have you been and up to?
