Perhaps the comparison merely reflects the relative amounts of time it takes an individual to make $75 and the perceived luxury of buying them from an exclusive, "up up scale" store, a statement of success, Nordstrom's comes to mind. Someone who makes $75 a day is less likely to prefer the high priced briefs as someone who makes $75 a minute. It's more about perception of value and conspicuous consumption even if only visible to the self involved, like shampoo. There are many shampoos on the market that cost a wide range of prices. It seems humble Suave is the best and the cheapest shampoo in blind-study consumer comparison tests but people with money to burn think the costliest is best. But you knew all this, Igor. You were just bragging about how thrifty and down to earth you are, no? Me, I am fond of my $23 Bali bras--been wearing them for years. Like Mrs. Dalloway said, "Perhaps -- perhaps."

I have a question? Recentlly I saw some sort of consumer report on men's
briefs. They rated them as to the capabiltiy of holding the nads
comfortably. The $75 a pair ones were compared to $25 ones and so forth.
They were rated for comfort, style and color. I was amazed in that I have
been using these cheap 5 pair for $10 Hanes and Fruit of the Loom briefs for
years. I quit the boxer types after I left the military. So what can a $75
pair do that my $2.50 pair can't do?
