Well, Mike.  You are a lucky bastard.  I have a friend in Kansas whose dad 
would take him to listen to King Oliver in Chicago....in the Midway Gardens 
(the long gone Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece.)   He probably heard some 
early Armstrong there too.

Others I have known report that they actually heard Zero Mostel as Teve.

Some people have all the luck.

Closest I can get is that once we saw Angela Lansbury and Len Carious live 
in Sweeny Todd off Broadway.
