CNN "commentator" and the "Taliban race"

Getting up early and arriving at work early, I am able
to catch CNN from 6:30-8 a.m. at the office. One of
the talking heads commentators is a professional
crumudgeon (Jack somebody?) who seems to be a cross
among Rush Limbaugh (with no joviality), Pat Buchanan
(with less rigidity) and Mort Sahl (with a lobotomy).
-----------------------------------------------------
Anyway, the woman anchor (another CNN blond who loves
herself and her "incisive" observations) had just
finished an interview with Ramsey Clark. Clark had had
the effrontery to question the basic premises
(international law etc) under which the US transported
the Evil Ones they managed to find to Gitmo. She
badgered him a bit and then he asked her what evidence
there was against them individually as far as a crime
on American soil having been committed to allow
scooping them up, transporting them and then holding
them at Casa del Castro.
-----------------------------------------------------
"We are not the judicial system for the world," Clark
explained. A look of profound disbelief spread across
her face and she continued to pick at his points.
Afterwards, she and Jack (??) had the obligatory CNN
military consultant (a spook colonel right out of
"Above the Law") on to rebut Clark's "obviously
misguided" points.
-----------------------------------------------------
Colonel Flagg did his patriotic bit and left. Then
Jack, speaking to Blondie, added the capper: "These
people of the 'Taliban race' are all crazy and
dangerous and should be locked up for what they did"
he said in effect.
-----------------------------------------------------
Two things struck me. That's how stupid and misfocused
this adventure has been as far as the scooping up and
transporting part of the op (watch our "allies" start
to jump ship as this fiasco continues) and most
patriotically pumped up 'Mericans don't want to even
consider Ramsey may be right and that we are not the
Grand Jury and District Court system of the world.
-----------------------------------------------------
I am tempted to send Jack an e-mail pointing out some
shortcomings of the Baptist race, and perhaps even the
Pentacostal snake handler race of West Virginia.
