Dear Mister W,

	Guns are really only designed for one main purpose – to kill humans
(though they do have other purposes).  Given that, though, despite the
good intentions of peace-minded folk to remove them from society, the
problem still remains that they exist anyway; “Outlaw guns, and only
outlaws will have guns”, as it were.  What is the counter, then, to the
concept that “an armed society is a polite society”, and still keep the
murder-by-gun rate low-to-zero?

Dear Quentin Tarantino,

	You know what?  An Amish society is polite, also.

	It's generally your Asshole society that's impolite, and they generally
claim that they *need* to be assholes, in order to keep the other
assholes at bay.  

	So here's the thing: guns don't matter.  I wouldn't give two jolly figs
if the Amish were armed, because I think they've got good heads on their
beards.  And assholes are going to be assholes, whether they've got guns
or not - and they're likely to at least *try* to get them, because
assholiness often stems from paranoid fuckery.

	Wonderful is all about changing what's in your mind, not what's in your hand.

	I wish I could outlaw stupidity, but I can't, because it's the main
component of the economy.  Instead, Mister Wonderful proposes that we
let the assholes pervert the Chinese Gift of Gunpowder as much as they
like.  O Yes.  And the rest of us will meditate and muse and ponder and
work out and make love and delve deep and this:

	We will learn to dodge bullets.
