My Dearest Mr. Wonderful,

What do you think of Ben Sherman clothing?

Sincerely,
Calvin Klein
______________
Dear Dirk Diggler,

I think it's an outrage. It makes you just want to march right up to
city hall carrying a bottle of Everclear, a Zippo lighter, and a dirty
rag, shouting, "How dare you keep on clothing, Ben Sherman? Think of
the children, Ben! Haven't you clothed enough already? My god, give
someone else a chance to clothe; you've been dead for 17 years!"

We used to think the Ben Sherman label was pretty cool, though, back
when we had perception-altering drugs entering our systems through an IV
drip 23 hours a day. The other hour we entertained guests - it wouldn't
do to have the tubes get tangled, so we'd eat mushrooms.

"Someone fetch the Cheshire Cat!" we'd shout in Mick Jagger's general
direction. "For I've often seen a shirt without buttons, but never
buttons without a shirt."

And then a deep voice would call back, "Of course the buttons are
without the shirt; if they were inside, you couldn't close 'em!"

Well, that sounded like a challenge, so eventually we invented the
Mobius Shirt. But that's another story.

These days, Ben Sherman clothes are the sartorial equivalent of Bridget
Fonda: no matter how many people think she's hot and hip, she's still 40
years old.
