Dear Mister Wonderful,
You know that butterfly that flaps its wings in the whole chaos theory
scenario, that flaps its wings and there is a storm in Tierra del Fuego?
Why doesn't somebody just catch that darned butterfly and put an end to
this whole storm business?
And then this morning I was walking down the street, and I realized,
what if I am that butterfly?

Dear Saint Anna,
Chuang Tzu, the Chinese poet, once dreamed that he was a butterfly and
when he awoke, he wondered if perhaps he should lay off the big rice
dinners right before bedtime. I think there's a lesson there for all
of us.
Butterflies are getting a bad rap, frankly. No doubt some brainy
mathematician was horribly frightened by one in his youth and so chose
them as his flappy culprit - for revenge.
The truth is a lot more wet. Storms, as any Viking could tell you, are
the province of grim Odin and his ale-soaked offspring, Thor. If there
are any wings stirring up winds, they belong to crows.
The trouble with the Vikings of course, is that the hardly ever sit
still for higher mathematics classes. "Sorry, I gotta go vike," they
say, and then set fire to the desk.

"That is the problem with this rich and anguished
generation. Somewhere a long time ago they fell in
love with the idea that politicians - even the
slickest and brightest presidential candidates -
were real heroes and truly exciting people.
That is wrong on its face. They are mainly dull
people with corrupt instincts and criminal children."
