Dear Mister Wonderful,

	Why does "to book" mean to go fast? I always think of books as things
that sit rather still much of the time.

Dear Homonym Hildie,

	And lord knows it's taking Mister Wonderful a long-ass time to write
one. You'd think I was getting paid by the hour. In solid gold blowjobs.

	Still. Truth is, we often have some swiftly moving books here at
Wonderful Labs. Miss Yakamoto can hurl a tome by, say, Bill O'Reilly
across the room so fast it'll catch fire. Of course, they're usually
*already* on fire.  Not that any of us would deliberately burn a book;
sometimes, though, the bile can be awfully corrosive when you spit on 'em.

	The answer must lie in Cockney rhyming slang. Just as "china" = china
plate = mate, and "butcher's" = butcher's hook = look, so then "book" =
book shop = hop. You know. Quick, like a bunny.

	Then again, speaking of those bi nouny-verby type things, you *can*
book a reservation for dinner. Typically, however, one only has to run
from the check. Or rather, from the check-waving waiter with a meat
cleaver clenched in his teeth.

RIMMER: I've brought about peace. Peace, freedom and democracy.

LISTER: Yeah, Rimmer, right, absolutely. Now all the corpses
	that litter that battlefield can just lie there, safe in
	the knowledge that they snuffed it under a flag of peace,
	and can now happily decompose in a land of freedom...
	you smeghead.
