Dear Mister Wonderful,
My wife has become a codpiece crusader. What should I do, short of
actually wearing one, which would just make me look like Blackadder?

Dear Thrustpants the Viking,
My dear, dear boy, what, in the name of all that is wet and slippery,
what is a codpiece crusader? She doesn't dress in Valkyrie armor and
set fire to the Men's Wearhouse, does she?
If she does, point her next in the direction of Eddie Bauer's corporate
offices. Mister Monkey has some debts that need cremation.
The codpiece, a protruding bag of cloth designed to hide and enhance
the gap between a gentleman's tights, was also known as a French
braguette. When one's wife is the champion of stuffed trousers, perhaps
it is merely a sign that one should invest in Pierre Cardin athletic socks.
Mister Wonderful, who has not worn a codpiece in public since this past
November, feels that you should indulge your wife, no matter how
extravagant her protuberance whims may grow. More treasured than all
the jewels in the bosoms of Europe, sayeth the Wonder, is a woman who
tells you exactly what she wants.

Mister Wonderful Recommends: The pristine stasis of that commercial
enterprise known to mortals as The Apotheosis. Do you understand that
buying gifts here could save your life?! Well, maybe not save, but
definitely *improve*. And when I say "your life" I, of course, mean "my life."

to destroy forever the stuttering powerless child
I once was, to gain the love and attention that
silenced child never had, to allay the dissatisfaction
I still have with myself, to be something other than
what I am."
