Hello Folks,


1988 300 CE - dark blue, light tan interior.

I just had to praise this institution:

I had exactly the same problem with my dash instrumentation (and cruise
control) the day before yesterday.

I downloaded the Repair Manual, did a lot of research and was prepared to
launch an expensive repair campaign.

However when I re-checked the fuse and found it was burned out, replacing it
solved all of my problems.
I had previously done a cursory visual inspection of the fuse; but you
really have to remove fuses to inspect them properly. 

It just goes to show you that diagnostics should ALWAYS begin with an
examination of the simplest (least expensive) possible cause.
