Jack,
I have a 1994 E320 Cabriolet and it's by far the best car I've ever owned.
It has 128,500 miles on the clock and nary a rattle, and this from a rag
top.  My friend has a 300E with the 2.8L engine and I would recommend going
up to the 3.2L engine since it has much more zip.  I've had the car since
91K miles and it has been virtually trouble free.
