[W124] I found a E36 AMG Cabrio in UK...

After three years of working hard and saving I decided to replace my E320 Coupe with a Cabrio as I'm always planned. The time came to start looking and on the pages of auto trader there were a few candidates, but right in the middle of them all was a E36 AMG. It was £5K over my budget but I had to go and take a look.

24 hours later and it's home with me, should be fun. Externally it looks about perfect, internally not too bad although a bit of tlc required, mechanically looks pretty good too, pulls well but with occasional misfire? Oil looks OK but I think it could do with a service.

BUT, today the roof has stopped working, any suggestions, here are the symptoms:

I opened the roof this morning, engine running. Everything OK up to the point at which the cover closes, it didn't seem to want to catch and pull down. I tried going up and down a few times to no avail and looked at clasp mechanism which showed no obvious fault. Whilst I had it half open I took the opportunity to lube the joints (WD-40 was recommended to me). After a while I gave up and decided to shut the roof, but that didn't seem right either. I have managed to close it. But it doesn't look quite flush at the rear. And now the motor doesn't work at all so it's stuck there. The red light on the roof switch is flashing. I suspect a blown fuse, but can't locate the roof fuse. The main fuse box says it's external, but where? I don't have a manual. I have googled every phrase I can think of, and gather that there are several external fuse boxes. I have found several external fuses (but not in boxes, and none labelled). Is there a hydraulic reservoir somewhere to check levels of?

Can anyone recommend a good W124 E36 Cabrio workshop specialist in south of UK (I live in Milton Keynes and drive regularly to London). I'm not too happy with the guy who did my Coupe and have since heard other people not happy too.

Finally for now, the main thing that's bugging me inside is the sun visor mounted mirror (passenger) is missing glass and the fold up flap. Is that common on cabrios? The drivers side is missing the fold up flap. They seem to have broken on the locating lugs. I wonder whether to attempt a repair or look for replacements?

Looking forward to getting these niggles sorted and enjoying the car...

One other thing, this car only has electric seat on drivers side, passenger is manual. Is that normal? I've never noticed one like it before.
