I concur. Replace all the fuses you can reach in the fusebox under the hood
just in front of the driver. This older fuse type develops slight surface
corrosion at the contacts. Just disconnect your battery so you don't have to
be too delicate, and replace them all with new ones.

47K miles? I'm drooling. I've got over 219K on my 89. (I replaced my fuses a
year or two back.)

And Jonathan, you're a bit of a 126 coupe fan I see. ;-) Care to tell us
about the 85 300CD? (If the list doesn't mind. It's still an MB coupe.)

Rich,
I would start by swapping all your fuses out for copper instead of the
aluminum that's most likely in there. As for your cruise, I'm willing to
wager the cruise amp is starting to act up..it's fairly common. I've seen
the wiper motors lose their mind before but never delved in to see what was
causing the problem.

If you don't my asking, where on LI are you? I know two very good MB
specialists on the Island..one in Locust Valley, the other in Mineola.

My 1990 CE with 47K org miles is starting to breed some gremlins. The
cruise control bucks when I first set it at 65 then I switch it off and set
again and it jumps from 65 to 80 mph. Some times it will run for some time
then start bucking down again. One night I put my windshield washer on and
when I pulled in my garage the headlight washer motor was still running
after I shut the windshield wiper off and dumped all the washer fluid out. I
sure would like some help with this mess, what's wrong, what do I need to
fix this???

Thanks
