I have AMG replicas ET 35 8Jx17 with 225/45zr17 on, both front and rear
wheels. My car is an 300ce that is original lowered 40mm or so both front
and rear (with adjusted camber), and I have no problem with the wheels
touching anything even with full turn. Only problem that I can think of is
that Aurora tires doesn't qualify with enough grip in high speeds turns.
They tend to lose grip above 100km/h depends on the turn. And I have
correctly loaded tires. 91W for an 300ce. With one person inside. So if
you're buying new rubber-rings for your rocketsled, buy something good that
makes your car sit like a postage stamp on the road.

Subject: [W124] Tyres on 17"

One more question now that I see that my tyres are well worn :-)

I have 17" rims, with 225x45 on the rear and 215x40 on the front - previous
owner must have like the "jacked up rear" '70s look. However on Irish roads,
those 40-profile tyres are way too harsh. What would be the tallest profile
possible with 17" rims ? Not too concerned with messing up the speedometer
reading, more concerned with fouling the arches etc.

Anyone have 17"s ?
