The Optima is really a superior battery. It costs quite a bit more  
though. I have over four years on my Optima Orange Top and it is  
still going strong (as most any battery should).

The Orange Top is the same as a Red Top, except the posts are  
reversed, which is what the W124 needs (Neg to outside). I don't  
believe they actually make an Orange Top anymore, but they do make  
the Red Tops with the reversed posts. The correct part number for the  
W124 (at least it was four years ago) is 34R (part # 8003-151).
