[W124] 230CE '92 ABS and other queries

Hi Steve

I whipped out the relay-box as suggested, but no difference - sunroof still pops up to "tilt". I wonder if the built-in microswitch, assuming there is one, is done for. Unfortunately the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual is useless - it doesn't show that convenience-control box under the seats. Nor does it show the sunroof mechanism on the diagram.

There's another box in that well, ominous in yellow: http://mx5ireland.com/members/frank/benz/DSC05825.JPG
and then another in the well on the other side of the car: http://mx5ireland.com/members/frank/benz/DSC05835.JPG

Will try to recreate the workshop manuals from the zip file later (first attempt failed - CD1 and CD2 folders only have a 7kb DS_Store file in each). Hopefully there's a wiring diagram in there

Thanks for the help - and the pictures
Frank

Here's something you can try. May or may not work, but it is easy to
do, so what have you to lose?

Under the left rear seat bottom is the N57 'convenience control
module' relay. It controls the power windows, sunroof and a few other
items. Pop out the seat bottom and unplug the five or so connectors
that plug into that relay. If I remember correctly, the two outer-
most plugs had a strange, sliding latch mechanism to release them.
After unplugging all connectors, make sure all of the contacts are
clean.

After a few moments, just plug all of the connectors back into the
relay.

Here's a few photos of the relay and its location. It is covered on
pages 144/2 thru 144/5 of the ETM, also.

Now check your window-closure function. De-energizing the relay may
have re-set it and it might work correctly now. No guarantees, but
like I said, it's worth a try.
