[W124] Wiring harness

No. While we're a little unclear when it first appeared on different models,
I'm sure it did not affect 1990 and older models, nor did it affect 97 and
later. It's somewhere there in the middle where it gets murky.
I'm also sure it affected US 95 model year W202 M104 C280 models, 'cuz I had
one of those poor beasts.

Is this wiring defect on 1990 and earlier MB's?

According to my local garage they contacted MB and they admitted the

I believe the 93-94 models had an iimproved loom in a different
location.

It was explained that some erstwhile engineers trying to justify their
salary took it upoon themselves to change the origin of the insulation

could
catch fire!! Ah Hem!

Hmm. They used the M104 in the 300CE, at least in the US, starting in
1990
model year, with an upgrade to the Bosch fuel injection system starting
in
91.
I wonder just when they started using the evil wiring in US 300CE's.
