[Retros] Illegal moves by grandmasters

Actually, there is no reason to consider the "afterlife" moves as illegal.
Indeed, the game automatically ended after Kxb6 was played but where does it
state that 2 players can't do a little analysis on the same board after the
game has finished? And, even if they wrote their analytical moves on the
score sheet, does that make the preceding and terminated game illegal? If
anyone is at fault, it is the editors and publicists who with poor
perception took all these proceedings as parts of the same formal chess game
and reproduced them on that basis.

The reverse however is not true. The (composed) dead positions published by
Andrew Buchanan are indeed illegal as no legal game can be construed to
arrive at them. The "law" does not allways look the same in forward and
backward direction.
