I'm wondering how the big cover is removed? I didn't find any help in the archives and G. Murphy's article in the Star didn't apply to this model. Thanks in advance for any help. A simple tightening was all that was required. Try that first. Bob In a message dated 9/22/2008 12:16:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time, r129list-request at mbcoupes.com writes: Today's Topics: 1. The wipermotor stops in the middle of the windshield, so i take off the housing ( 3 screws) from the wipermotor, bend the three contactlips down so that the contactpoints were aligned with the three contactrings and after cleaning the contactrings and replace the greese, everything works fine for 10 months. After that time the wiper stay's for a second in the middle , and then go on. I heard a click in the box on the right side from the car, where a lot off electronics is settled. I followed the cable from the wipermotor to the control box , disconnected the connector, and take out the control unit. Ir was full of relay's with big contactpoints. I saw that some points was burned-in. Tooke a smal piece off very little sandpaper and cleaned the contactpoints. In the meantime the wiper system works without problems for three jears. Now it finally seems to work. Does anyone else have an issue with the door trim on the drivers side? My silver trim along the window keeps coming off, I tried getting it back on but no matter what I do it eventually gets pushed up by the window movement. I didnt think anything of it but I noticed several other mercedes with the trim sticking up. Anyone have any ideas? asim 1994 SL320 Red 92k miles From philcarbone55 at comcast.net Sat Sep 27 18:37:09 2008 From: philcarbone55 at comcast.net (Phil Carbone) Date: Sat, 27 Sep 2008 17:37:09 -0500 Subject: [R129 SL] Wiper and Door Trim question References: <997842.96261.qm@web82103.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Message-ID: <054A165CAC6C45C1A5005E60E63A3601@user> Get some new clips for the trim. ----- Original Message ----- From: "asim razvi" To: Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2008 12:42 PM Subject: [R129 SL] Wiper and Door Trim question > > > Darn, I had this problem 3 times and replaced the wiper motor three times > for 250 bucks.
