>didnt mean to start anything I just didnt like the comment about green
text
>you were right to start something, i did not like the comment either.
you were right to start something.
>on a black background my linux loves to do this so its not so strange
that others
>are doing it also,
>it is an optimum way of using a screen for intensive use. good for the
eyes.
>I used to work on IBM or BULL terminals they all were green on black or
sometimes yellow on black.
and you really think that our comment was about readability on screens
fredric
and you really believe that is why net.artists used it?
talk about gimmicks and conventions!
its used by artists and designers online because
its is a simple fact that green on black LOOKS MORE CYBER
want to make sure people take one look and think 'computer'
put them in a cyber mood.
watch any hollywood movie with a computer in the storyline.
make it green on black and ta-dah the work is done no more thought or
idea required instant throw off the web/computer newbie mystery of the
scary computer the 'unexpected' interface decision... oooh look its
blinking at me ... oh no is my computer about to crash ack i'm soooooo
scared......
>now people use the most hideous combinations of colors
now that goes back to that lack of experimentation and the design by
committee which is status quo of software/hardware manufacturers... but
thats a whole other story.
>maybe experement is a personal thing.
you're on to something there....
