[nbos] NBOS: What's next?

That's a pity. My Mobile Pro is a brilliant little notebook-style
computer but very light and compact. It has a full keyboard with
laptop-type keys, a USB port, touch-sensitive screen and modem usable in
USA, UK and Europe, plus IR connectivity - and it takes smart cards for
additional storage. It's over 7 years old and cost around $400 new. I
got it for 70 GBP on eBay about four years ago and it's still going
strong.

Trouble is, I can't get any software for it. I did manage to find an
office suite from a company called Softmaker which gives far more scope
than the standard CE office but the latest upgrade is incompatible with
CE.

I have CE development discs but can't work out how to use them or I'd
try to write some software myself. If I ever work it out, maybe we could
collaborate an something and both derive the benefit!

Probably not, unfortunately.  The windows mobile world has moved solely 
over to Intel processors (ARM based XScale cpu's), and I cant compile
any 
existing code for anything other than those processors.

I'm in the same boat.  I also have a pair of CE devices - a mobilon
tri-pad 
tablet (which was a great GM'ing machine) and an HP Jornada 540.
Neither 
are XScale processors, so I cant do much with them.
