[W126 Coupe] 560 engine - oil filter gasket

Thanks for the tips.  I'm gonna fix the situation in the morning and make sure the o ring is installed.  I need to see if I have the washer.  Last time I am going to the local oil shop.  They charge $15 to change out oil but u bring ur own oil and filter.

Is it ok that the dip stick reads above the max red line mark?  Looks like I may have 1/2 quart over.  Should I try to drain this out?  Engine oil was checked while engine was off and oil warm.
