[W126 Coupe] [w126 coupe] condensation from the tubes attached to the vents?

Hey All

Ive noticed that there is a lont of water condensed on the outside on of the tube connected to the ac vent (driver side).. Is that normal.. 

Also i have very limited knowledge when it comes AC.. CAn you guys tell me what this part is called and what does it do (golden thing )
