Thanks Dick
Once I receive the new lines & have everything back together I will asses
the lights, which I think have never really worked properly in elevation
mode, due to the damaged vac line. The only information I have is the US based
MBUSA CD Manual so if this information is not on the CD then I may take up
the offer of sourcing one from the list.If anyone has the vac line fitting
sequence for the recirculation switch connection it is a triangular rubber
with three holes Left,Right and top position when viewed from the inside of
the car these popped off during console removal and I am not 100% sure I
have them in the right order.

Dan,

You can block the vacuum feed to the elevation circuit temporarily with a
piece of vinyl tape. FWIW, the controlled leak on the dial is more than
offset by the vacuum resevoir in the fender when all vac circuits are
intact. I'd replace the line and place the headlamp elevation back in
service. Do you have the factory guide for setting up the lamps with
elevation? Also, that service is tied to the rear suspension on your 560.
The dial is a manual over-ride of sorts. Where I don't have the hydraulic
suspension, I set the headlamps up so I could elevate as needed on
particulary dark nights ie with wet pavement, poor street lighting, rain,
etc. and without then need for operating the high beams that would
interfere with opposing drivers.

Let the list know if you need the manual.

Dick
