Hi Yousef
You are having the same problem as myself,I have stripped out the centre
console, battery ,glove box, carpets & under dash covers trying to locate the
vacuum lines that are causing the losses, the seat will lock if I connect the
mityvac to the line under the seat, but will not lock if I do the same test
at the bulkhead. As for the "Mityvac"tester If you haven't got one you can
use a freezer bag vac pump and a vacuum gauge & "T" piece its crude but has
worked for me in the past.
I have some questions for the group
1/ What would be the best adhesive to glue the centre console vinyl to the
foam moulding?
2 The foam insulation around the A/C expansion valve mine has perished is
there anything better?
3/ I have two electronic boxes under the passenger side marked "Ranger
281"any ideas?
4/Has anyone tried these 4 mm push on nylon hose joiners from pneumatic
suppliers?
I am still trying to fix all the broken plastic parts from when the car was
in in Hong Kong, the way to remove plastic parts there is to pull as hard as
you can until it breaks, don't bother to remove the plastic clips or the
screws!!
I would not trust them to fix my wheelbarrow! Come to think of it that's
what they must have worked on during their apprenticeship! There that's my
soapbox rant for the day.
Kind Regards

Hey All
ive seen this post a while ago and kept it in mind till i remove my seats ..
And now i have .. And after reading it again and again ive notice that i
havent understood much :P..so here is what i understand from my situaion..
I can see the locking mechansim and i see the vaccum lines .. Now i do not
have mityvac (not availabe in Dubai and ordering online is cazy expensive)
.. So i had to.. Use.. My....... mouth :S.. (you can make fun all you want
but it had to be done hahaha ).. Now introducing vaccum does latch the lock
and the tubes seem to hold the vaccum with no leaks .. Pressing the button
releases the latch.. It seems normal to me ..
So could it be that the engine is generating enough vaccum? Other systems
that work on vaccum (vac pods central lock ) work fine .. Mechanically the
car runs really well.. Only comment would be that kickdown doesnt work (but
thats a totally different story)
Oh and i hav this problem with both seats
I have noticed that the vaccum line meet some where in the seat but couldnt
tell properly ..
Finally what do you people say do i buy the MB slip paste to lubricate the
seat rails & gears or just go with normal grease?
Cheers
Yousef
