With the clicks, could be a battery cable, or battery failure.  Why the battery could be failing is another issue - could be the Alternator.

I would take the battery into a shop for testing; it really does sound like a battery issue.

If it was running when it died I would not think that it's the starter. Click indicates that the battery is the problem or bad connections.

My 380SEC died as I was driving home yesterday afternoon (fortunately, I could pull off the road, AND I was within walking distance of home ).  Preliminary investigation suggests electrical and/or starter motor - when I turn the ignition key, I here a series of clicks, but nothing further.  We checked the battery with a voltmeter - full charge, drops slightly when the ignition is turned.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
