[W126 Coupe] MB coupes at MB Museum "Cars & Coffee" event

I didn't talk to the owners of the SECs too much. They actually were a bit stand-offish so other than some initial conversation I didn't engage them in depth about the cars. The AMG sticker on the black car put me off a bit too, because I really didn't see anything "AMG-ish" on or about the car!!

I think these parking sensor systems are available on the aftermarket so if the install is desired, it's entirely possible on an SEC. Personally though given the drilling of the bumper that would be required, I wouldn't make this mod. I'm sure it's a "nice to have" type of deal but in real life I probably only parallel park maybe 5% of all parking that I do, so as a proximity sensor it wouldn't be that handy. Most slots here in my area of Houston are pull-in slots where there is generally ample room in front and back of the cars (most folks here drive SUVs also, so the parking places tend to be larger than other locales).

Cheers,
Gerry

I realize this is an aftermarket mod, just never have seen it on a SEC before. Anyone here done this? I'm not sure if I like the look on these cars but I sure have gotten use to having them on all my newer cars.
