[W126 Coupe] car stalls when coming to a stop.

In the last few weeks my 560sec has stalled when coming to a stop.  When standing still the engine seems to miss due to low idle.  With A/c on the car idles smoother, it seems 50-100 rpms makes the difference.  However now then car stalls and when trying to restart it just cracks away like it's out of gas.  Wait 5 minutes and the car statrts. any hints what ti check ?? I was going to clean Idle control valve first.
