[W126 Coupe] Battery in trunk

Honestly, for what these cars cost new, you'd think AGM batteries would be standard equipment- Especially if you're gonna hide them in the trunk above a bunch of other pricey components that don't take too kindly to sulfuric acid.



I noticed that many new cars, also MB and BMW, are installing their electronics in the trunk.
That is a dangerous procedure. My mechanic had in the last 6 month 2 BMW 5 series and one MB in for computer repair/replacement, because the owners had leaking water and milk containers. I understand that one of the BMW computer that had to be replaced cost approx. $2800.
Another trend is selling new cars without a spare tire.
I stick with my 1987 SEC and I think that car will out live me.
