You need more information -- I'd have a competent (MB-knowledgeable) exhaust 
shop check the whole system out.  Generally it's the resonator (kidney) or 
rear muffler sections that go bad.

You can go two ways if you have a stock exhaust system -- go with factory 
parts, or go with a Timevalve (stainless) system.

Generally their stuff is of pretty good quality, though some parts I've 
heard about for other cars hasn't fit without some tweaking.  I think their 
quality has slipped some over the past 10 years, compared to what it used to 
be.

You can get ONLY factory MB parts ordered from parts.com for less cost than 
anywhere else in the country (dealer cost + 15%) + shipping.
