[W126 Coupe] Locked keys in 560 SEC

Although I always thought it was almost impossible to lock oneself out of a
M-B I guess this would be a good time to get an extra key and hide it in one
of those magnetic holders under the front somewhere. They have saved my
butt a few times on other makes.

Your MB Dealer will likely need your registration papers, VIN, and
identification to satisfy them that you ARE the owner. Then they will order
a new key based on your VIN.... sometimes around here (Canada) that takes 2
weeks.

Call a tow truck. Towing companies "break into" cars all the time to remove
illegally parked cars as well as (often) to help owners like you to gain
access to locked keys. An experienced towing employee usually takes less
than a minute.

I watched my mechanic do this once and it is surprisingly easy to break in.

Just remove the trim (don't scratch the paint) along the door top next to
the glass and you get access from there down into the inner workings.

You'll need to create a tool with strong wire to pop up the lock mechanism.
