[W126 Coupe] Wm Rickman Anti-Virus software, the good and the bad?

Hey pisan,

I too have had disappointing experiences with Norton, Macafee, Antivar and other so called anti-virus programs . . . but that was in the past in all fairness. However, my biggest over all disappointment is with Microsoft, the host for all viruses.

After running a full virus scan ( nearly 12 hours of intense search) . . .following the bogous email that was supposedly sent from me to members of this group . . .my PC stopped working; it froze up and was pronounced dead by the geeks at Best Buy.

So, I ended up returning home with my dead PC and a big box with an iMac in it to replace it with. The initial investment seems a bit higher with Apple products but time will tell; if I were paid a measley $5 hr for all of the hours I've spent trying to keep my PC running it would be a goodly sum.

By the way, the scan was 5 mins short of 12 hours and no viruses were found . . . currently I have been using Kaspersky anti-virus software.

Cruise safely
Ernie

(I was NOT happy with Norton, nor McAffee, both of which seemed to suck the power while pretending to interact with me seemingly just to make me feel they are actually DOING something.)
