                One sure way to tell is to remove the covers and with a
mirror

                look at the very end of the camshafts (up against the
firewall).

                If there is an AMG stamp on them, then at least it's genuine


AMG.  That's what we did with my white-on-white '84. Verifying

the 6 liter is more involved.

Just to give you an idea of price.. recently (a year or two ago) a genuine
6.0 DOHC widebody was for sale in Germany.. It was a late car and was a
german AMG factory conversion from new. It fetched around 15K Euro. 

 

The silver car here is questionable to say the least, my major concern would
be that the engine just looks like a standard Euro 560, and so in $ I would
estimate its value around 15K.

 

If it can be proven without doubt that its the 6.0 then maybe worth a little
more... but it doesnt even have AMG rocker covers so I very much doubt the
engine has been touched, or if it has, its not the original.

Very nice car but seems like a lot of money unless they are extremely rare.
Too bad it is a repaint.  Can't help with specifics - just wanted to comment
on the car.

What is this car worth assuming the mileage is correct and is an original
AMG produced vehicle?  How can it be determined that it came from AMG and is
not an aftermarket modification?
