Hi Gerry,
You are wonderful thanks for taking the time to send me that info.
However, it takes me exactly as far as my CD's does, to the sub function group.

I go to engine - then Exhaust - and Oxygen sensor, at that point it blinks off and comes back on and that's as far as it goes.

This morning I called M-B customer care in New Jersey for the second time in two weeks. The first time I talked to a fellow who told me that they would never remove the service manual from the internet that it must be a problem with my computer.
Today I called twice and spoke with two different ladies who directed me to startekinfo.com and found the following in FAQ
FAQ

GENERAL
Q : How much is a subscription to STAR TekInfo?
A : The cost of subscribing is: $18 per day; $95 per week; $275 per month; and $2950 for a one-year subscription.
Q : I work on my own car all the time. I am not with a dealership, nor am I a technician. Why can't I get in-depth vehicle repair instruction via email or over the phone?
A : Although we do our best to help customers via STAR TekInfo there are some repairs that must be referred to your local MB dealer. Some repairs are only possible where direct contact with the issues on the particular car can be addressed. Please work with your local MB dealer to resolve individual repair issues with your car.

Obviously Mercedes-Benz want us to go to the dealers like I mentioned before.

I wonder if it would help to install Java which I had removed some time ago because my computer was slowing down. I'll try to install it and keep you posed.

Carl
