[W126 Coupe] low left rear end question

The clunking I had on my SEC was a collapsed rubber bumper on the hydraulic
ram. I took off the nut on top of the ram from inside the car, put on a
fatter rubber and with an additional washer on top, tightened the nut back
down. The clunk was gone. You *might* have to depressurize the system and
remove the hydraulic ram if the rubber bumper on top of the ram that sits
under the body panel is too crushed/collapsed. I got lucky and it was the
one on top of the body panel.
