[W126 Coupe] Rear Bumper Chrome & Trunk Vent

I had a left rear tire come off my 1984 Mercedes 500 SEC (Euro) and damaged
the left side chrome strip on the rear bumper and the left side trunk vent.
Does anyone know where these can be obtained...if at all?

The recent MBCA magazine had an article on insurance. After reading it, I
called my agent to find out about "stated value". Also, I asked how the
insurance company would value my car if it were totaled.
As for how it would be valued, an adjuster would be called upon to look the
car over, history, record of maintenance, etc and then make a determination.
The response from the underwriter as to how the insurance rate was set was
that the rates were influenced by the fact that the car could be valued at
any where from 2.500 to 23,000 depending on condition, history, etc. My 84
has 94,000 miles, paint is in excellent condition, and the car has a full
maintenance history that would show it has been kept up to MB factory specs.
BTW, the car is my daily driver, not a garage queen. I asked for a stated
value of 11,000 and got a $300 reduction in my annual premium.
The reduction was due to the fact the the underwriter no longer had to cover
a potential loss of well over 20K.
Moral of the story? Check with your agent to see how your rates are
actually generated - you, too may find that a stated value could save money
as well as significantly reduce conflict with an adjuster at some time in
the future.

Another perspective and possible solution for repair of your Coupe
Recently I was forced off the road in my '90 Coupe. Sideswiped a telephone
pole from the front all the way to the rear and had some under body and
suspension damage. Both my insurer Allstate and Farmers the offender's
insurer valued the Coupe in excellent condition with 90K miles at $7800.
Fortunately I had collision coverage with Allstate and although Farmers
wanted to total the car, Allstate told me it was my prerogative to use my
collision coverage and repair the car. Allstate will subjugate with Farmers
for the nearly $9000 to fix the car. My Coupe looks better than ever because
the body shop painted more than was initially covered because of a color
matching issue. Plus, two new chrome wheels which replaced 20 year old
wheels that looked 20 years old. . Most thought I was crazy to push for the
repair with such determination but they just don't understand these cars and
where would I find as nice one owner under 90 K mile car with all of repair
investments I've made to preserve the car? Or better yet buy a used whatever
for the $7800 and regret not fixing the Coupe. Good luck with your situation
