I had the same problem and the same cylinder. I would say either job
requires advanced experience in this stuff. In addition to all the
necessary tools, some special.

Thanks Chet & Josh - I'll get the correct socket this weekend and get it
done. Maybe cleaning the plug now and then will be OK. I'll find out.

I don't know about replacing the valve guides or seals myself although I'd
give it a try if I felt that it might be something a novice could do without
too much difficulty. When I first start the engine after sitting overnight
there is some smoke from the exhaust, but none seems to be visible when
driving or idling or after a short shut-down.
