"Obvious" unless you have a USA model, in which case the knobs are reversed.  I've been watching these posts also, as my dashlights haven't worked in years.  I didn't know that one of those knobs controlled them.  My car has a wheel next to the light switch and I figured that was the problem.  Anyway, I'm going to try them this morning and see if it works.  Thanks!

On the instrument panel there are 2 small knobs on the right and left side of the panel under the instruments on the warning light panel.  The right one is the odometer (kilometer) reset by pushing and the instrument panel light dimmer switch by turning.  You may have accidentally turned the dash lights "off" when resetting the odometer.  Try turning this knob to see if it reconnects.  (The left knob is for the clock, obviously) -Bellamy
