  Some of you may be interested in the progress of my wide body coupe project  and I wanted to note that the exterior body conversion has finally been completed! The coupe has been painted and I've had a chance to reassemble all of the exterior bits.


  Though I'm still searching for a set of 9/10" Pentas for the project, I've compromised "period correct-ness" by settling on a set of 10/12" AMG/OZ for now.  Let me know if anyone has a lead on the AMG Five Spoke Road Wheels as mentioned below.


  The coupe is currently running very well with it's original power plant.  Coupled with a set of European OE Tri-y manifolds, dual exhaust and 3.06 GT diff, the new found wide body is pleasantly spirited.  This is allowing me to enjoy the coupe as is while finishing up the 5.4 engine build on the side.


  The interior is being freshened up but unfortunately coming along very slowly.

    Hello...

    Thought to drop a little refresher note that I'm still searching for a set of very unique AMG pentas for my current wide body project.  Many have been helpful in forwarding potential solutions, thank you, but I wanted to clarify what I am after  specifically.  The AMG Five Spoke Road Wheel, commonly referred to as a Penta, wheel design was popular during the mid 80's and the most common size found on the open market are 8"X16" et11.  The wheels I am searching for are also 16" in diameter but 9" and 10" wide.

    The markings on the outside hub area with have the following:

    9" will have AMG 9JX16 et0 7400048 and the 10" will have AMG 10J et-12.7 7400049 which is the more rare size of the two sizes.

    A fellow member has graciously turned me onto a set which include 9's but I would prefer not to break up the set.  Several sets have come to market during my search but unfortunately well outside of my budget range for this project.

    So if anyone could assist in locating a reasonably priced set of these rather rare examples I would greatly appreciate it.
