Hi Henry,
There are a number of diy tests and if they don't resolve the problem,
you will need a fuel pressure gauge set-up that permits the correct hook
up to the upper and lower chamber on the fuel distributor.
Before you go into the fuel system diagnosis, can you better describe
the problem. Stumble as in miss only at idle?. Stumble on
acceleration? Miss at speeds? Rough idle on cold start or only when
engine warms and so on. Also, can you feel the motor vibrating at idle
in park by finding a safe spot to place your hand on say the passenger
cylinder cover. Just avoid the spark plug leads. When was the last
time the motor mounts were inspected? At what point do you get the
engine to smooth out? Again with engine on, car in park, hand on the
cylinder cover, locate the control linkage behind air cleaner at
firewall and move it to gradually increase rpms. You can have another
person in the cabin do this too and with greater accuracy read the tach.
