Bellamy,
Upon further inspection, yes, pulled out from both the engine and the transmission. I found the connection point at the transmission but unable to find it at the engine. As I'm looking , I'm giving the engine a cleaning . . .the back of the carb/fuel distributor thing sure gets dirty. it looks better now but I still can't find the connection point. It would be nice If I had a manual but maybe someone can give a specific place to look.
Thanks for your help
Ernie

So, I clean up the mess, get in the car totake it for a spin and the first thing out of the driveway "bang" as it shifts into 2nd gear, and bang again as it goes through each shift.. I did feel a bit of a hard shift before I put the car up on jacks but something happened dramatically in the course of a few hours on the jacks; didIbreak something when I jacked the car up or did I disconnect something unknowingly?. I only lowered the transmission enough to remove and replace the neutral switch! Any ideas? Ihad this transmission rebuilt at 99k and it is now at 214k
