[W126 Coupe] climate control problem ??

Gary:  Was it the fan itself that won't run?  Does the fan fail to come "on" even when switched to the max setting for defrost (left button)?  If so, the likely culprit will be the fan fuse... likely is in a little box by itself on the fender in front of the fuse box.  (Note: I am still driving antique 380 SEC's so the 560 location MAY be different.)  -Bellamy

without notice a/c, heater, blower just stop working.  all that happens is lots of hot air comes from the windshield defroster vents.  i switched out the climate control part with a working one and still nothing.
 
there is a differnce in climate control part number.   the donor part comes from an 88 560 sec, number 126 830 08 85 the other part number is 126 830 11 85 and that belongs to my 91 560 sec.
 
seems line the problem comes before power gets to the climate control unit.
 
a while back while trouble shooting my old sec's climate control, i noticed when i would press the a/c button you could audibly here a click under the hood.  this doesn't happen with either part.
 
is there a relay that would cause all of this to shut down?
