Good evening everyone,
Can anyone tell me where the safety switch is located and what tools I'll need to R & R it? At my age it really would be nice if I don't have to make more than one trip underneath the car.
Thanks,
Ernie

Ernie,
It should be on the left side of the transmission, about half way down the side, both front to rear and vertically.

Personally, I only needed a pair of pliers to help install a new shift bushing while I was there, but you might find a flat screw driver helpful to gently pry the connector free, depending on how long it's been in place. A pair of channel lock pliers might also be helpful, again depending on how long the switch has been there and how stuck it's gotten.

To remove it, you will need to disconnect the electrical connector, rotate the locking collar on the transmission, and pull the switch outward. Installation of the new one is just as simple, press the new one in while rotating the locking collar to secure it.
