Battery retailers in the US have testers for batteries.  Can you have your battery tested?  

Your battery may now not hold a strong charge and will fail you at the best time, for it, to cause you the most problems.

Get it tested and possibly replaced ... cheap insurance.

Battery stories follow:

I once hand carried my battery, in Santa Cruz, Calif, 2 miles only to find only to find out it was great.  A a thin layer of corrosion had formed and broke the contact between the cables and the battery yerminals.  Now thats a lesson you never forget.  If you think your battery is dead, clean the terminals, connections and ground connection... you may just have a dead connection or bad ground.  

I have also had a battery break a plate inside the battery on snowy night in Connecticut.  Drove to the lodge, had some libation, last one in the parking lot to leave and NADA ... sigh ... before cell phones.  Do you know that the tow truck that arrives does not carry spare batteries?  If your battery is really dead, call a cab not a tow ... probably cheaper.

  Well, after 18 hours recharging the battery and jump cables from the other car, it started without problem. Took 20 minutes drive and the battery seems to be OK. Thanks for all advice.
