[W126 Coupe] So, I need a M117.968 Block and Pistons -www.mercedesengines.netopinions?

David,
Let me add my .03 cents. My Metric Motors engine went in my "83" 380
at 289K. At 550K I had the heads rebuilt with a 5 Liter cam and solid
lifters put in. The bottom part not even touched. Now at 577K runs great
and uses no oil.

David -
I have enjoyed the discussion regarding your dilemma although I don't
think
you're enjoying it very much as it all boils down to money. However,
should
you decide to go with a re-built from the states I can at least put in a

plug for Metric Motors. Although an entirely different engine, I bought
a
re-built for my '64 230 SL a couple of years ago and have been very
pleased
with it.

Maybe Ernie has the right idea. Find a big block Chevy engine and put
it
in. Who will know the difference except when you go to sell it.

Best of luck.
