Really? The factory doesn't rebuild M117's anymore, hasn't for years.

And even @ their cost, all the parts and machining required...there is
no way they could rebuild the whole engine that cheaply. We're just
finishing up the 3rd 5.6 in the last couple of months and a dead on
Stock rebuild (albeit blueprinted) is about 2X as much.

My experience w/ Metric thus far, one engine ate a cam in about 30K
(m117) the other ate a piston (OM617). They were also disappointing in
the engine that ate said cam was supposed to be a 300HP/ECE varient, but
they sent it over w/ nothing more then HC pistons and it barely made
10hp more then my US engine set up similarly! Thanks but no thanks :-/

Shame I just used my last 117.968 bottom end for an AMG 190 widebody
project that we have here.
