Anyone know where a new door seal for a 91' SEC could be obtained?

I've tryed for a year and everyone states that "they quit making it".
I suppose whoever made it for Mercedes.

Thanks

i Jonathan & Group...

I think you are hitting the nail with the below statement.

I changed the OVP last week and the car behaved for a while... I did a 50 mile
ourney without it cutting out once. Then on the way back, same problems..
By shorting out pins 15 & 37 on the FPR, the fuel pump runs constantly and then
do not get the problem at all.

Looking at the relay, there is indeed a pin labelled "TD"... So this HAS to be
he cause.. makes perfect sence, the problem only occurs at low revs and so
here must be a weak signal somewhere here.

So you mention changing the coil.. is this where the TD signal comes from? I
ave a donor 560 so parts not an issue.

I see a wire from the EZL that seperates into two and goes down onto the engine
lock somewhere... Is this not also a TD signal?
Also when I ordered the crank sensor from MB, the initially supplied me with a
TDC sender" and I cant figure out where this goes at all... It just looks like
probe with a 3 pin connector.

Thanks for the help.. I feel we are getting closer to nailing this.

interesting, well, the FPR requires a signal (TD) from the coil to tell the car
hat ignition is firing and to keep the fuel pumps engaged.. You may chck the
oil, verify the grounds are good/connections are tight etc..
ight even drop in a spare coil if you have one handy.

m pretty sure something is telling the fuel to shut off.. when the problem
irst occured, nothing would start the car unless i jumped the pins on the fuel
elay... the car had no issue if pins 15 and 47 were jumped...

so is it re-starting straight away? The big question is are we fuel or spark...

r, if a bad sensor is telling the car that it's rev'ing too high and the ICU is
hutting the ICV..

o any idea where this TDC sender goes? Its a probe, looks like the crank sensor
nd the other end has a 3 pin rectangular connector... may as well change it now

Jay,

bout the cutting in and out; have you checked the EZL?

ot a part that seems to fail a lot on the M117, but I've had a lot of EZL
ssues with the M119 engine in my car and those are the exact symptoms.

i All,

k im struggling with my 560 SEC..

asically it just cuts out at low revs.. it will idle for hours without an issue
ut when driving it cuts out when approaching a junction.. sometimes when
pproaching a junction at low speed and other times just when pulling away..

have swapped the Idle control unit and Fuel Pump Relay.. but no difference...

hen this first started happening, the car would not restart and the fuel pump
ould not run, I had to jumper the pins (i think 15 and 47?) to get the fuel
ump to run so I could get home.. It did this even with the brand new relay...
ut recently it seems to restart immediately...

ELP!!

any Thanks & Regards

i All,

Following on from the below, i decided to go out and swap the coils as
uggested.

Unfortunately this made no difference, the car cut out as soon as i started
t...

However, I have gotten a step closer:
The problem is caused by the throttle pedal somehow..
I brushed the accelerator with my foot (not enough to depress it) and the fuel
ump kicked in for a second... I then touched the accelerator with my hand and
ure enough the fuel pump would actuate with every touch...
So I thought, easy.. there is a wire or something rubbing on the linkage
omewhere... I checked the whole system from inside the car, through the
irewall and to the engine.. There is nothing obvious..
I could not make the fault re occur so couldnt diagnose which part of the
inkage etc is causing the problem...

So my question is.. is there an electrical connection from throttle linkage (or
aybe something associated to it) and the FPR?

I adjusted up some slack in the linkage to see if that cures it.

My suspicion now heads to the thing that looks like some kind of throttle
osition sender as the insulation on the wiring to it is badly cracked..

any thoughts?
